EXACT ALLOY SOLDER PREFORMS

A solder preform is a precision-engineered solder shape, designed to define an exact measured quantity of metal to meet a specific application. These applications may be in the mechanical, electrical or microelectronic industries.

Because preforms are produced in large quantities, our manufacturing process ensures part-to- part consistency for dimensions and, consequently, the amount of solder.

Compared to manual soldering, preforms provide a number of important advantages:

	Preforms take the guesswork out of soldering to improve finished-assembly quality and simplify inspection of uniform solder joints.
	Mechanized loading of preforms and mass-production heating methods can cut costs significantly.
	Preforms can be made into total metal/chemical systems with flux fillings or flux coatings, eliminating secondary fluxing operations.
	Preforms are often the best way to solder inaccessible or “impossible-to-reach” joints.
	When correctly designed and applied, solder preforms are highly cost-effective, creating extremely high yields of sound, reliable solder joints.
