Powder

Electronic Grade Solder Powder

  • BETTER CHEMISTRY. OUR LOW IMPURITY LEVEL IN THE CHEMISTRY of the alloy permits our powder to have shinier fillets and have a better appearance after reflow.
  • LOW OXIDE. OUR 63 % AND 62 % SN POWDERS HAVE A LOW OXIDE value that allows the powder to perform better in solder ball testing.
  • CONTROLLED PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION. OUR PSD SPECIFICATIONS on oversize (less than 1%) allows the powder to have excellent utilization in dispensing applications.
  • CLIMATE CONTROLLED MANUFACTURING AND PACKAGING AREAS gives Fry powder an advantage in solderball testing and reduction in clumping while powder is en route.
  • BAG TO BAG CONSISTENCY DUE TO SUPERIOR PROCESS CONTROL, pre-packaging sampling and blending allows Fry to ensure that each bag is the same as the next bag within the constraints of sampling and testing.
  • SOLDERBALL PERFORMANCE IS ENHANCED DUE TO STRICT CONTROL of the parameters mentioned above. The powder works well in an aggressive No-Clean flux application. Performance due to flux may vary, and we are willing to test using the customer's flux.
  • FRY IS ABLE TO HOLD HIGH SPHERICITY STANDARDS due to our proprietary manufacturing methods. Our sphericity for Type 3 powders is higher than the J-Standard recommends.
  • OUR POWDER IS MANUFACTURED IN SMALL, EASY TO CLEAN, EASY TO segregate chambers. This allows Fry the ability to produce small orders containing odd alloys, low alpha, lead free and odd type powders.
  • FRY IS LEADING RESEARCH IN BETTER manufacturing methods for advanced technology powders, such as low alpha and Type 5. We have successfully atomized metal to produce 0.02 a counts / cm2 / hr powder and is investigating methods to manufacture alpha counts lower than 0.02. We are beginning to manufacture Type 5 (- 25 + 15 mm) powders within the J-Standard specifications.
  • ALL FRY POWDER IS J-STANDARD COMPLIANT AND OUR internal specifications will meet and in most cases exceed the standard.
  • FRY IS WILLING TO PRODUCE POWDER THAT IS customer specific and will work with the customer to develop manufacturing instructions for each of the customer's products.
