Analytical
Laboratory
Fry's Analytical Laboratory provides
analytical services for support of existing products and the development
of new ones.
INSPECTION AND
ANALYSIS EQUIPMENT
Optical Emission
Spark/Arc emission spectrometer for the rapid analysis of Sn/Pb
alloys. Excellent reproducibility and traceability to NIST and
other approved standards.
X-Ray Fluorescence
PW 2404
Rapid analysis of Sn/Pb with +/- 0.05% accuracy. Analyses are
verified by ASTM method E46 for the titrimetric analysis of Sn
in solder with NIST standard 127b being used to generate the iodate/tin
equivalence factor. Analysis time approx. 1˝ min in duplicate.
Mettler DL25 Titrator
Used for the titrimetric inspection of fluxes, dross and aqueous
solutions, with optimum accuracy. Storage for 50 complete methods
enables versatility in analytical capability.
Coulter Model LS100
Electronic particle size distribution analyzer which utilizes
dry feed mechanism and optical laser system to classify powder.
Software includes statistical data package.
Malcom and Digital
Brookfield Viscometers
Used to study the rheology of various solder pastes and paste
fluxes. Allows for the accurate determination of a wide range
of viscosities.
Perkin Elmer
Infrared Spectrophotometer
Used for identification of organic compounds such as residues
on printed circuit boards. (Dolton facility)
*Fry Analytical Laboratory
is also equipped with all standard equipment and technical resources
to handle a variety of wet chemical techniques for nonferrous
alloys.
SOLDER POT ANALYSIS
Fry’s analysis provides a complete
quantitative report on solder bath composition for preventive
maintenance or for solving specific solder problems.
