Welcome

Fry is the world's largest tin/lead fabricator under one roof with the capacity to meet the entire U.S. markets' requirement for solder and related products. Fry was established in Altoona, PA in October 1979.

District, Regional and Inside Sales people, along with authorized distributors and representatives, guarantee reliable and immediate service for customer needs.

Fry operates a separate 5,000 sq. ft. lead-free facility to meet the ever-pressing environmental demands of lead related issues and stringent specifications.

Comprehensive Statistical Quality Control and Total Quality Management programs enable Fry to receive top survey scores and preferred supplier status from Motorola, Chrysler Acustar, and Sprague Electric. We have earned the Magnetek Power M and also the Ford Q1 Award. With state-of-the-art laboratories in Altoona, PA and Alpharetta, GA, Fry provides full line research, development, testing, and product analysis. Technical assistance is provided by in-house metallurgists, chemists, and mechanical engineers.

The Altoona plant, along with strategically placed warehouses, meet the demands of Just-In-Time and other "ship to manufacture" systems. Fry's capacity is further enhanced by a network of stocking distributors across North America. Customers also take advantage of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and ASN (Advanced Shipping Notification).

High-recovery smelting and refining operations provide safe "cradle to grave" liability protection for Fry customers. The Electrolytic Refinery provides precious metal recovery.

The backbone of Fry's success is the employees' commitment to the Total Improvement Process (TIP). "We will delivery 100% conformance to customer requirements, and will perform to a standard of zero defects in all operations of our company."
